Individuals need to remember that anything is possible

Monday, June 27th, 2011

In life, everyone becomes discouraged from time to time. There will occasionally be moments in an individuals' life in which he or she wishes to give up. However, Ilchi Lee has instructed that "in moments of doubt, make fists and shout to yourself three times, 'I can do anything!'" Practicing this aphorism may help when circumstances seem overwhelming.

An excellent place to remind yourself that you can do anything is Sebago Lake, Maine. This body of water is incredibly serene and still, especially in the early morning. Individuals who visit this place seeking to achieve personal growth should wake at dawn and engage in meditation or yoga on the beach. One can even practice making fists and shouting 'I can do anything' in peace before anyone else wakes up.

On Sebago Lake, one can swim, kayak, fish or simply relax in the serene atmosphere that this area provides. The body of water is surrounded by forests, which makes the lake seem even more secluded and peaceful. After a short period of time here, visitors are sure to feel relaxed, recharged and ready to do anything.

One can gain perspective on life in India

Friday, June 24th, 2011

Ilchi Lee has said that "when we lose sincerity, we become lazy and discontented." In the busy world that we live in, sometimes we lose sight of the important things in life as we strive for success. In the corporate world, the desire for wealth and power can occasionally displace compassion and care for others. In order to restore balance and harmony in one's life and avoid becoming a lazy and unhappy person, it may help to give back to others and restore priorities.

A great place to volunteer is in the slums of India. Palampur in particular has a very poor population and embraces the efforts of helpful individuals in its orphanages. There are many programs that one can get involved with that will coordinate their efforts and find them a place to become involved.

Another fantastic thing about Palampur, aside from the incredible opportunities to make a lasting change in some one's life, is that it is very peaceful. There are many temples and parks in this city where individuals can walk and meditate. One may find that they have experienced spiritual healing after spending time in India.

Individuals should be aware of their potential

Friday, June 24th, 2011

It is very important for people to understand that while everyone experiences limitations in their lives, there are always opportunities to overcome these challenges. Ilchi Lee tells us that we must "find every possible strength" and "admire our infinite potential." In order to do this, it may be helpful to set a goal and strive towards achieving it.

When we set goals for ourselves, we are identifying the potential that exists within. Establishing what we would like to achieve helps us to discover our strengths and work on our weaknesses. Walking is an exercise that may be excellent for figuring out what sort of goal you should set. Taking in the outdoors while exerting oneself physically is a fantastic way to clear one's mind and meditate on possibly strategies.

Marco Island, Florida, is a great place to engage in such a walk. This coastal destination is located near Naples and is very peaceful and quiet. One can contemplate what sort of personal change they wish to enact while strolling along the shore. The peaceful atmosphere that this place affords should help individuals form a plan for goal setting and achieving.

One may find that experiencing the past helps one connect with the present

Ilchi Lee once said that the pioneers had big goals and a keen vision. He believes there are many types of loneliness and that if given the choice, he would choose the loneliness of those who had such a vision and struck out on their own to explore and create new civilizations. For individuals who are looking to embrace this aphorism, it may be helpful to follow the path of the historical characters who forged a path west through the U.S. on the Oregon Trail.

There are many peaceful places that exist along the Trail, and one who seeks serenity can select any of them. Individuals can embark on a multitude of different hikes in Idaho, Nebraska, Kansas and Wyoming that may help them feel as though they are experiencing a new world, just as the pioneers had.

Physical exercise can be a fantastic way to encourage meditation and contemplation within the busy mind, and focusing on Ilchi Lee's aphorism while embarking on a historical hike may help practitioners to fully embrace his meaning.

Take the time to feel nature’s beauty in the Great Plains

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

The Great Plains can be considered the heartland of America for more reasons than one. They are located in the middle of the country, but they also hold what many think of as the true, core values of the U.S. A visit to this area may help one embrace simplicity and appreciate the beauty of nature in its most unadorned form.

Ilchi Lee reminds us that "at every moment, the sunshine, the blue sky, even the wind around us wait to become one with us, to find our fundamental connection." In a serene place such as the Great Plains, one may be able to feel this strong bond and achieve a new world of peace for themselves.

The Great Plains are so large and full of natural wonders that individuals who are looking for tranquility do not need to limit themselves to any one location. From the wildflower-fields of the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas to fantastically large Mississippi River, there are many beautiful places to undertake meditation in this area and contemplate the meaning behind Ilchi Lee's aphorism.

Bike your way through America’s first national park

Monday, April 11th, 2011

Yellowstone Park is now open for the spring, which means travelers who are looking for personal development through recreational activities should book their trip now, especially since motorized vehicles aren't allowed until April 15th, reports the Associated Press.

"Until then, bicyclists who are willing to brave the elements can tour the park under their own power," states AP.

While crews in the U.S. National Park clear off the beautiful snow-covered roads, bicyclists can enjoy the area without the noise pollution caused by cars.

While there is no bike access to Old Faithful or the Canyon, there is plenty of Yellowstone property to explore.

Even when cars are finally allowed on the roads, bicyclists can explore more of the remote natural areas.

According to Frommer's, the best route is "the Mount Washburn Trail, [which leaves] from Old Chittenden Road, [and] is a strenuous trail that climbs 1,400 feet. The Lonestar Geyser Trail, accessed at Kepler Cascade near Old Faithful, is an easy 1-hour ride on a user-friendly, partly paved road."

Bicycling is an amazing way for travelers to build mental and physical strength, much like yoga or hiking. These outdoor experiences help build self-respect and a better connection between the mind, body and soul.

Chamonix: the mountain village for peace and serenity

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

One of the highest-elevated towns in Europe, Chamonix, is a wonderful place to practice Illchi Lee's meditation poses.

Being surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and inhaling some of the world's cleanest air is sure to have a spiritual effect on travelers.

The charming village hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1926, an appropriate spot since the highest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc, towers of Chamonix.

"Alluring Chamonix charms and Mont Blanc's enormous snow-capped peak leaves visitors speechless," says Susan Fogwell, a flight attendant and blogger for the Huffington Post.

To get higher in the heavens, take a ride up the cable car, which brings visitors to Aiguille du Midi high above the town of Chamonix. Perhaps once they're there, travelers will want to go for a walk along the trails leading to Italy over the Alps.

If relaxation is more their cup of tea, travelers can explore the quaint streets of the village back in the valley. There are several outdoor cafes along the cobblestone alleys to enjoy such a serene destination.

Visiting Chamonix is a cultural and spiritual experience that should be discovered by any traveler who enjoys mountain vistas and powerful energy flows.
