Living in the moment is like watching a flower bloom in the spring

Few things in life are as important as living in the moment. In reality, it is all that a person has. The past is nothing more than hazy shades that exist within one's own mind. The future is intangible and may never even come for some. For this reason, personal development only comes when individuals live each moment to its fullest.

This is why Ilchi Lee recommends techniques like meditation. This helps people to focus their thoughts on the moment and can enable them to leave behind their preoccupations with the past and future.

"It is most rewarding to cultivate flowers of happiness here and now, rather than in the past or future," Lee said. "Those who have grown many flowers of happiness are not easily shaken by stress. They smile and let worries just pass by."

While the cultivation of any crop requires patience and determination, when springtime comes and the flowers begin to bloom, their smell may be so sweet that a person can't help but rejoice in the moment and recognize the personal development they have accomplished.
